The Great GSNYPENN Camp In Camp Out

We are at capacity for the ‘Great NYPENN Camp In Camp Out’ and will not be adding more participants. This being our first foray into a large virtual program, we want to ensure that the event goes smoothly and will evaluate afterwards to improve upon program delivery if necessary. Technology can be challenging, and we want to maintain the integrity of our programming as we navigate through this new normal of online services.

As this event was so popular, we will be hosting another virtual Camp In Camp Out event in July, so be sure to check our social media and webpage for updates

Note: this is a virtual program that requires a Zoom account and internet access to participate. We’ve found it works best to have Zoom downloaded and ready before accessing a call. Visit girlscouts.zoom.us to set up an account. A basic account is free. You can join from a computer, smartphone or call-in from any phone. Complete Zoom meeting details will be shared in the event handbook.

Join us for the first-ever Great GSNYPENN Camp In Camp Out on National Get Outdoors Day! Build a blanket fort in the comfort of your own home or pitch a tent in your backyard and join girls from across the GSNYPENN Council for a virtual campout.

Our evening starts at 5 p.m. with an opening ceremony and concludes with star gazing and songs around a virtual campfire! Throughout the program you’ll have the opportunity to participate in all-camp activities, choose your own adventure, make some crafts, and snack on s’mores—all from your own home!

We have three levels of participation:

Basic: $5 per person
This includes the virtual program with private links to Zoom activities, an e-copy of the event handbook, and a patch to be mailed to you after the event.

Basic registration through this event is required for anyone participating in the program. If you’d like to enhance your experience, we’re offering Trail Mixer and Trailblazer options for an additional cost (plus shipping).

Trail Mixer: additional $10 per person ($15 total)
You'll receive a package in the mail containing all the materials to complete a glow stick firefly craft, boondoggle to make a friendship bracelet, a s’mores kit for 2, and a hardcopy event handbook. Cut off date to purchase this package is June 5. Be sure to complete your registration here before heading over to purchase the Trail Mixer kit.

Trailblazer: additional $25 per person ($30 total)
You'll receive a package in the mail containing all the materials to complete a glow stick firefly craft, boondoggle to make a friendship bracelet, a s’mores kit for 4, hardcopy event handbook and swag from the GSNYPENN camp property of your choice. Swag includes a youth size camp t-shirt (adult sizes available at an additional cost), camp sticker, pennant, and journal. Cut off date to purchase this package is June 5.

Make and eat your camp dinner inside or outside. Choose a recipe from the event guide to try or follow along with Shugar as she cooks her favorite camp recipes!

6 p.m.

Dessert

On your own or Zoom with Swarley

Make your own s’mores, s’macos, banana boats, or your own favorite camp dessert creation! Tune into Zoom to see what Swarley’s making.

6:30 p.m.

Choose Your Own Adventure

On your own or as part of a virtual troop meeting

Use the event guide to pick a camp activity or make up your own!

7:15 p.m.

All-Camp “Ramp It Up” Activities

Zoom to participate with staff

Ramp It Up with hands-on activities to move your body and exercise your mind!

8 p.m.

Choose Your Own Adventure

On your own or as part of a virtual troop meeting

Use the event guide to pick a camp activity or make up your own!

8:30 p.m.

All-Camp “Wind It Down” Activities

Zoom to participate with staff

Wind It Down with activities to quiet your mind and body before we wrap it up for the evening!
