Explore the Lake Placid region of the Adirondacks as we visit the site of two Winter Olympic Games, experience rock climbing, and take in the Adirondack scenery on horseback. Day one starts with an up-close tour of the Olympic Jumping Complex, where athletes train year round. We will ride a gondola and a glass enclosed elevator to the top of the observation deck and get a panoramic view of the Adirondack High Peaks and the ski jump. The tour grants us access to the ski jumpers’ preparation room and the freestyle training facility, where we may get to see the athletes in action! Our next stop is to the top of Little Whiteface Mountain via the Cloudsplitter Gondola Ride. At the top we will visit the observation deck and take in the beauty around us. Day two takes us to new heights as we embark on a rock climbing adventure led by experienced guides from Eastern Mountain Sports. The trip concludes with a private horseback trail ride led by the professionals at Adirondack Horse Ranch. We will receive a thorough horsemanship lesson prior to embarking on a 3 hour ride through the Adirondack wilderness complete with scenic views of the high peaks and a hearty lunch. The ride is safe for beginners and has a 250 lb. weight limit. The trip will spend 3 days and 2 nights at a local campground in Wilmington. The rest of the week will be spent at Trefoil, where campers will be able to participate in classic camp activities.
Full refunds are given if GSNYPENN cancels a Council-run program or event. Troops, groups or individuals will be notified as soon as possible when a decision is made. Payments for all Council programs and events are non-refundable, unless Council cancels the event, or the registering person/group cancels PRIOR to the registration deadline.
Any refund or credit requested may e settled on a case by case basis and is subject to a 25% processing fee, deducted from the original payment total.
No refunds or credit will be given for 'no-shows' for any reason.
