Girl Scouts Love State Parks!

Join Girl Scouts of all ages from around the country to get out and explore your local state parks! There are MANY ways to participate! Complete the requirements for your Girl Scout level, plan a fun-filled day with your family or take part virtually, attend our council's optional in-person activities, share pictures of your adventures with us on social (we're @gsnypenn) and earn an awesome Girl Scouts Love State Parks 2020 patch!

Register now for this FREE event to let us know you’ll be part of this amazing weekend! We’ll send out an info sheet about how to plan your state parks visit to get the most out of your weekend!

Here's a peek at the ways you can participate:

STEP 1:
Earn your Girl Scouts Love the Outdoors Challenge patch! (It can be purchased through the Girl Scout Shop.) You don’t need to submit completed requirements to us, this is on your honor!

STEP 2:
Research a New York or Pennsylvania State Park to visit. Girl Scouts all across the country will be visiting their local state parks over this special weekend. Check out the official Girl Scouts Love State Parks Passport to help guide your journey!

STEP 3:
Visit a state park on Saturday, September 12 and/or Sunday, September 13 to earn your Girl Scouts Love State Parks patch. By registering for this event and visiting a state park, you’ll unlock this limited-edition patch which can be purchased through our GSNYPENN Stores. (Order online via Shopify and select shipping or curbside pickup, or email our retail staff at store@gsnypenn.org.)

You can also participate in our FREE in-person council activities at select New York State Parks. See below for more info!

STEP 4:
Follow along with virtual programming hosted by Girl Scouts of the USA throughout the weekend! This includes interactive videos on outdoor skill-building, highlights from state parks, conversations with subject matter experts and more. Girls can visit an interactive map with 50 virtual tours of state parks from all 50 states!

GSNYPENN will also host virtual programming with some of our community partners on Zoom!

Use meeting ID: 981 5220 0156 and passcode GSLSP. Programs will be added as we confirm them.

  • Protecting Pollinators (in partnership with Cabot Cheese):
    Saturday, September 12 from 9:30-10:30 a.m.

The Cabot farmers want to teach kids about the importance of pollinators in our communities and practical ways they can help protect and preserve pollinator populations. Girls will complete fun activities and learn what pollinators do, why they are important and how they can help protect pollinators. A pollination expert will be on hand to answer questions. Everyone who participates in this virtual program will receive the Pollinator patch!

Optional In-Person Council Activities at Select NYS Parks!
